We have been in India a couple of weeks now and have adjusted to the heat and the sights, sounds, fragrances of India. We are based at a homestay in Panaji, the capital of Goa, and have been attending a music and folk dance festival. It's been such a memorable experience watching traditional dance from many regions of India in an outdoor theatre by the River Mandovi. It has certainly inspired us to listen to more folk music and to learn about the many different types of Indian drum and percussion instruments and their history. We recommend staying with a local family when in India, you receive local advice and travel tips first hand and we have received such a warm welcome from Deric and his family.
